Gift Box Card Holder

Hi everyone 🙂

This is a great little gift card holder

I found many different ones like this on  Pinterest but I wanted one that folded down flat for storage, so you could make quite a few and store them in a box till you needed them.

You could fill the  little 1′ x 4′ box with some lollies or a lip balm or what ever you like to put in it.

It can be made in any colour and used for any occasion.

So here are the measurements, cutting guide and video:

Card stock: 7’ x 9-3/8’ in Juniper

Score on the 7’ side @ 1/2′, 1-1/2’, 5-1/2’ & 6-1/2’

Score on the 9-3/8’ side @ 1’, 2’, 3’, 4’ & 6-3/4’

Paper pieces: cut 1 @ 3-3/4’ x 1-1/2’

Cut 2@ 3-3/4’ x 3/4′

1 white Daisy circle 1-1/4’

1 Sea Glass Glitter circle 1-1/2’

Stamp set: Jolly Holiday C1654

  1. Fold and burnish all the score lines.
  2. Follow the cutting guide.
  3. Add glue to the top edge and the side edge, and fold over to form the pocket for the gift card.
  4. Add the 3-3/4’ x 1-1/2’ piece of paper to this section so that it has a 1/8’ boarder on the two sides and the top, near the fold.
  5. Using the thumb notch punch. Place the punch onto the open side at the top of the folded section.
  6. Add glue to the bottom 1’ section and fold the top section over to form the box.
  7. Add the other two pieces of paper to the top and front of the box.
  8. Stamp the circle sentiment onto the 1-1/4’ circle in Juniper Ink.
  9. Attach to the Sea Glass Glitter circle using glue dots.
  10. Attach to the front panel with 3D foam.

When not in use this box folds down flat for easy storage.

Concertina Card in a Box

Hi everyone 🙂

I’m sorry for the long delay from my last post, but what I thought was just the flu turned out to be viral pneumonia.

There wont be a video this week, as I don’t think that you would be able  hear  me through all the coughing.

So here is the card for this week. It’s a Concertina card.

I found this on Pinterest from The Crafty Owl UK.

This card is for my Mum’s Birthday today, and I’ve made it in the new Swan Lake paper and the stamp set with the Thin Cuts “Thankful for You” Z4007.

Here are the Measurements and cutting guide:

Cut from one piece of paper: cut 2 @ 12′ x 4′ and cut 1 @ 10′ x 4′

Score on the 12′ side @ 2-1/2′, 5′, 7-1/2′ & 10′

Score on the 10′ side @ 2-1/2′, 5′ & 7-1/2′

Back Matting: 2-1/4′ x 3-1/2′ cut 10

Matting: 2-1/8′ x 3-3/8′ cut 10

front panel: 1-3/4′ x 3′ cut 10

side panels: 2-1/4′ x 4′ cut 2

  1. Fold and burnish all the score lines.
  2. On the 2′ section of the two 12′ x 4′ pieces. Make a mark at 1′ on the top and bottom plus make a mark at 2 ‘on the 4’ side.IMG_1207IMG_1208
  3. Place this into your trimmer so that the marks are in the cutting channel, and cut away.this should leave you with a point on the ends.IMG_1203
  4. Place the two 12′ x 4′ pieces to either end and place the 10′ x 4′ piece in the middle so that the two, 2-1/2′ ends overlap the 12′ , 2-1/2′ sections as show.
  5.  Taking the two side panels, make a mark on the 2-1/4′ top and bottom @ 1-1/4′ and make a mark @ 2′ on the 4′ side.IMG_1205
  6. Place these two pieces into your trimmer and trim off the same as the paper.
  7. Add adhesive to the back of the paper and attach the card stock so that 1/4′ edge shows. As shown.IMG_1209
  8. Layer up the back matting panel and matting panel and place on to the     2-1/2′ x 4 ‘ sections.
  9. Using the Typography Alphabet capitals, stamp out the word birthday as one letter on to each card.
  10. Using the 5 flowers from the stamp set in Glacier, Poppy, Peacock, Lemon and Tangerine ink. Randomly stamp the flowers around the letters.
  11. Stamp the word Happy from the “Finding the Words” onto the first panel.
  12.  Punch a hole on the pointed end and tread a piece of ribbon through and tie into a knot.
  13. Stamp the Swans and their bills in VersaMark onto Peacock card stock and sprinkle White Embossing Powder. Set with a heat gun.
  14. Colour the bill in with the Marigold ShinHan marker.
  15. Stamp the wings Peacock ink onto White card stock, and cut the Swans and wings out using the Thin Cuts.
