Henry’s School Album using August Stamp of the Month “School Year”

Hi crafty friends 🙂

The stamp of the month for August, “School Year” was just what I needed for Henry’s school album,

So I thought that I would share with you the album that I have made for him.

 (These are pattern 14)

I have only placed The 1st  & The last day of school photo wells in throughout the album.

As I receive the new photos through the year, I will be able to place then in the orientation that they need to be in.

I have also added Memory Protectors Pocket Plus (this one is Design 2,  Z3243)

There are 4 different designs to choose from. This enables you to add extra photos to the page group that you are working on.

I have only used two page designs for this album and they both come from the new “Make It from Your Heart Volume 3,  9043“, Pattern No. 14 on page 32 for Kinder, grade 1, grade 3 & grade 5, and Pattern No. 9 on page 22 for Prep, grade 2, grade 4, and grade 6

(These are pattern 9)

Here is a close up of the stamped images:

(and yes it was a lot of pencils but it was worth it).

I also used the new Thin Cuts Block Alphabet Z3386 to add the grades to each page years.

The papers that I have used are from the new Enchantment Fundamentals Z3352 and the coordinating card stock to match.

As you can see these papers where perfect for the colours for Henry’s school.

I hope that you find inspiration from these pages and make up an album for some you love, as this promotes self-worth in the person that the pages are about and will bring a big smile to their face.

so till next time,

keep on creating and bye for now 🙂

Slashed Front Card

Hi my crafty friends 🙂

When I first found this beautiful card I couldn’t wait to make it.

I had the stamp set in mind that I wonted to use and the colours that I thought would look good together.

The origonal card was made by Lisa Curcio at lisasstampstudio.com.

I add the measurements for the slashed section as my brain just couldn’t do a random cut like Lisa did.

So here are the measurements , cutting instructions and video:

Card: 5-1/2′ x 4-1/4′ Value Pack X254

Card front: 5-1/2′ x 4-1/4′  White Daisy 1385

Strip of Coloured card stock: 1/2′ x 12′ Raspberry X5974

Stamp sets: Beautiful You Z3384 , Birthday Sparkles B1537

Inks used: Bashful Z2819, Pixie Z2844, Raspberry Z2814, Fern Z2850, New England Ivy Z2835

  1. Place the card front on to your Versa Mat (in the corner on the left hand side with the 4-1/4′ across the bottom) and on the 5-1/2′ side make a mark @ 5′ & 5-1/4′
  2. On the 4-1/4′ bottom section make a mark @ 3-3/4′ and all so from the bottom up on the right hand 5-1/2′ side to the 2′ mark.
  3. Place the card front into your trimmer and place the 5’mark and the 3-3/4′ into the cutting channel and cut. Then place the 5-1/4′ mark and the 2′ mark into the cutting channel and cut. Keep the cut away piece as you will need this for the front of the card.
  4. Place the cut away middle section on to the card so that the corner is at the bottom and the top sits onto the side edge of the card. Using a pencil draw a line down both sides of this piece so that you know where to stamp.
  5. Stamp your images down the penciled in section (going over the edge of the pencil lines.
  6. Stamp the birthday greeting onto the bottom front section.
  7. Add adhesive to the back cut section of the front cut edge sections.
  8. Place the section onto the 1/2′ strip, as shown.
  9. Repeat this step with the top section, but place it onto the strip in the opposite direction, as shown.
  10. Using a pair of scissors, follow the line of the front sections to cut into points, as shown.
  11. Using 3D foam dots attach the bottom front section to the card.
  12. Add 3D foam dots to the top section and place onto the top of the card, as shown.
  13. Stamp out a flower and leaves, and using the thin cuts to match cut them out.
  14. Attach the flower to the top of the slash with 3D foam dots and add the leaves with tape runner around the flower onto the front section of the card.
  15. You can add some bling to finish if you wish.

I hope that you like this card, I find that every time I show it everyone wants the info on how to make it.

So till next time,

Keep on creating and bye for now 🙂
